Hi, I am Upasna, a product designer who
I design for good craftsmanship, simplicity, and impact. I care deeply about turning complex, ambiguous problems into experiences that feel effortless and human.
Today
I'm a product designer with 5+ years of experience across enterprise SaaS, AI-native tools, and consumer apps, always drawn to problems that are messy and worth solving.
Wherever I go, I bring a sketchbook, a matcha latte, and a strong opinion about layout. And if I'm lucky, a genuinely hard problem to dig into.
Growing Up
I grew up deeply curious about how things work, not just mechanically, but experientially. What makes something feel effortless? Why do people use products in ways designers never anticipated?
Those questions eventually led me to pursue design. After completing my Master's from Carnegie Mellon, I became increasingly fascinated by the intersection of AI, human behaviour, and experience.
Finding Design
My design journey began with a deep curiosity about people and systems. I was always the person asking "why does this feel so hard?" and eventually realising I wanted to be the one making it easier.
That drive led me from academic research at CMU to working on real products, building everything from zero-to-one AI features to large-scale enterprise platform redesigns.
My Goals
Now, I design products that bring clarity to complexity, helping people move faster, decide better, and feel more confident in the tools they use every day.
I love everything about the human-centred design process, from early strategy and research all the way through to pixel-level execution and delivery.
Outside the pixels
In my spare time, you'll find me cafe-hopping across the city searching for the perfect matcha latte, sketching half-baked ideas on random napkins, or going deep into rabbit holes about cognitive psychology.
I also love exploring new neighbourhoods, reading, and finding design in unexpected places: a well-designed menu, a perfectly placed signpost, an app that just works. Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy looking around.
